Louis King House

325 Seventh Avenue

1888 or 1889

Louis King was a wagon and carriage maker, owned livery barns and blacksmith shops and built the King/Story building at the northwest comer of Main Street and Seventh Avenue. Mr. King is also credited with building this Queen Anne style home for his residence. Originally the siding was elaborately cut shingles that are now mostly covered. The interior layout is full of alcoves, inglenooks and bay windows. Handsomely turned woodwork and parquet wood floors adorn the interior. This home is an informal, asymmetrical, cozy place. typical of the Queen Anne style. The east side of the house is a recent addition.
