Evenings of History - 2011

For more than two decades the Ouray County Historical Society has offered a series of free summer evening lectures on historical topics. The first six talks take place in the Massard Room of the Ouray Community Center while the final talk will be held in the Ridgway Town Hall. All talks begin at 7:30 pm. The dates and topics for the seven 2011 Evening in History lectures are given below:

June 14 - Scott Fetchenhier, The Old Hundred Mine

June 21 - P. David Smith, On the Backs of Burros: Bringing Civilization to Colorado

June 28 - Tom Hillhouse, Ouray and Its Railroad

July 5 - Rudy Davison, Marshall Basin Mines

July 12 - Maria Jones and Gail Saunders, Images of America - Ouray

July 19 - Don Paulson, Historic Ouray County Schools

**July 27 - Barbara and Jack Rairden, History of Log Hill

First Six are at the Community Center in Ouray.  The seventh one at the Town Hall in Ridgway.
