"How the San Juan Peaks Got their Names Exhibit" opens. Most Ouray County residents are familiar with Mt. Sneffels and some of the other local peaks names but have you ever wondered where all of those names come from. Visit this exhibit to learn the history behind the names of our beautiful mountains. Exhibit runs through November 21st.

Vignettes of History, This year Ouray County Historical Society's Vignettes of History will be a performance in character of a "Harvey Girl" waitress of the 1890s. The Harvey Girls waited tables at Fred Harvey restaurants along the Santa Fe Railroad's route from Chicago to Los Angleles. The event will take place at Ouray's Historic Western Hotel. Cash bar begins at 4 pm. The meal is at 6 pm and the performance at 7 pm. The meal will include historically correct Fred Harvey food. The cost for the evening meal and performance is $75.00.
