"Otto Mears Exhibit" opens. Most Ouray County residents are familiar with the name Otto Mears. He is most famous for building toll roads and railroads. However, Otto was involved in many other endeavors including founding newspapers, mining investing, military service, Colorado politics, and numerous others. Learn about the career of this famous Colorado entrepreneur. The exhibit closes July 5th and reopens August 16th thru November 16th.

 Begin call for entry in Photo exhibit "San Juan Memories", $5 per photo entry fee, ribbon winners from the past may not submit any previous prize winning photo, entries due by June 29th, no more than three entries by any one artist, Show juried by Natalie Heller. Opening July 8. Juried first place prize - $75, Juried 2nd place prize - $50, Juried 3rd place prize - $25. Any single individual can only win one award. Contact museum for details.

Log Hill Lungbuster Bike Challenge. A 15 mile time trial starting in the town of Ridgway and ending near the Divide Ranch and Country Club on Log Hill. Registration and entry fee of $40 which includes a T-shirt, refreshments and a grab bag of other sponor donated items. The route traverses the sub-divisions of Log Hill Village, Waterview Estates and Fairway Pines. For registration go to www.loghilllungbusterchallenge.com
